Beef
At the Kreps Family Farm, we raise our beef by the highest standards. We purchase young calves from local producers.
The beef cattle from the Kreps Family Farm have been given no artificial growth hormones or protein supplements.
Our cattle are raised on corn/barley mixture, pasture grass, sugar beet tailings and alfalfa/grass mixed hay .
. . you can taste the difference in our quality natural beef.
None of the animals at the Kreps Family Farm are older than 24 to 30 months old when they go to the locker plant
to be processed for your table. We keep detailed records on our stock so that we can be assured of only the freshest
and finest quality meat for you, our customers.
"Natural" is defined by the US Department of Agriculture as "A product containing no artificial

Hay / Alfalfa
When people ask what is raised on the Kreps Family Farm, the answer I give is, “Beef, grass hay, grass/alfalfa
mixed hay, straw, and small children… not necessarily in that order.”
The grass hay we produce is a mixture of pasture grasses that are hearty for the climate. We have one field that
is 15 acres of pasture mix grasses. We try to get 2 cuttings per year off the fields we mow. The small square bales
are 50-60 pounds. We produced 1750 grass hay bales in 2005. We also have a couple of fields that are a mixture
of alfalfa and grass. We baled 460 small square bales of this high quality mixed hay.
Straw
We also baled 500 small square bales of wheat straw. The straw is pre-ordered by our customers. We only bale enough
straw to fulfill the orders that we receive. Straw is an excellent way to insulate sensitive plants or for bedding
down the horses in the coldest part of the winter. Straw is also excellent insulation for around the foundation
of an older house during the winter. » Contact Us to Order Hay or Straw « |
